Four men – aged 41, 43, 32 and 30 – were rescued after their boat capsized and sank off Falcon recently.

It is understood one of the occupants of the 6m cabin cruiser activated an EPIRB attached to a lifejacket about 9.50pm.

Mandurah Volunteer Marine Rescue and a police helicopter reached them an hour and a half later.

The men were reportedly tossed into the water after their vessel was hit by a large wave. Luckily they were wearing their lifejackets. It is believed that the men’s boat sank shortly after it capsized.

The men were taken to Peel Health Campus with non-life-threatening injuries.

A water police spokesman said they were lucky to be alive.
